One of the best parts of my job is meeting and working with awesome couples, and Erica and Robert definitely make the “totally-awesome couples" list (That’s right, people. We have a list).
It’s just one of those things you can’t really tell about a couple until you’ve seen them interact with each other. Erica and Robert definitely had that chemistry; Erica’s bubbly personality fit perfectly with Robert’s cool and quiet demeanour. To be honest, I was a bit nervous writing a concept for this lovely couple because: a) the idea we were working off of (the one where we’re trying to turn people’s perceptions of Robert getting whipped by Erica on its head) was a difficult one to achieve without it going completely haywire; and b) Robert had arms that looked like they could pummel a war horse if the video really did go south. Needless to say, I was just a tiny bit apprehensive. (Not TOO apprehensive of course, cuz y’know…I’ve been working out too…yeah right...).
But, much to my relief, Erica and Robert were some of the chillest, most easy-going, and most co-operative couples that I’ve ever had the pleasure of collaborating with. It seemed the more we worked, the more Robert began to adopt this MANLY MAN persona, to the point where it simply became second nature; or perhaps he really was the MANLIEST MAN of ALL MANDOM this whole time and we just needed to shoot a video to expose the fact. Regardless, it was great fun shooting with this awesome couple, despite the several…uh…awkward moments during filming. There was a point during the Car Fixing scene, the one where Robert was stripping out of his hoodie, when Erica started to get (shall we say) especially interested in the production process and was taking a million photos of Robert in a tank top covered in motor oil. Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh...don’t want to know what album she puts those photos under…
Haha okok all jokes aside, we hope you enjoy this video, the story of Erica and Robert, and the culmination of their hard work and dedication, topped with a little hint (maybe too much) of “Chun-craziness” (it’s a serious affliction people!). We hope you share, post, retweet, and do whatever young people do with our videos; as always, we appreciate all your love and support.
And finally, to Robert, to Erica, and to TEAM HOANG!!
